Earnings of $1 million is a big figure in Standardbred racing . Allamerican Native's daughter A And G'sconfusion rallied to reach that plateau in the Breeders Crown.

In a year of less wins than she achieved in 2007, A And G'sconfusion, a pacing daughter of Allamerican Native, paired with driver David Miller to snatch victory from last year's painful jaws of defeat in the Breeders Crown. A And G'sconfusion faded badly last season on Breeders Crown weekend, crossing the wire next to last in her two-year-old championship race after leading heading into the homestretch as the race's second betting favorite.

Last Year's Confusion Absent In This Year's Breeders Crown for A And G'sconfusion

Last season A And G'sconfusion had no notions of fading before her Breeders Crown race, as she loped to first and second place winnings nine times. This year, the filly couldn't pin down a major stakes win othen than her elimination race for the Fan Hanover Stakes back in June.

She shook off this season's cobwebs at last at the Breeders Crown by cruising to the Three-Year-Old Filly Pace title. The win topped off her year's sparse earnings by more than doubling her income and catapulting her to mind boggling millionaire status.

Miller, who drove the filly several times last season, helped right the ship and capture the race's $305,000 winner's purse. That put A And G'sconfusion's career earnings at an easily understood, cool $1,311,277.

Miller said his filly "left the gate hard", then withstood later rallies as three competitors had scooted around her in the third quarter of the race before she found her own lead ryhthm.

New Trainer and Equipment for A And G's

A And G'sconfusion clipped out the BC win in 1:51 flat, a nice filly pace. Owner Willie Tomlin of A&G Stables credited his filly's win to some changes made this season. Trainer Mark Capone had conditioned the filly to her winning ways in 2007. This time around, Tomlin handed A And G'sconfusion to trainer Casie Coleman, who had worked for him in the past.

Coleman spoke with Capone before taking on the filly, then set about changing A And G's equipment. She added hood quarter cups and a straight snaffle bit to get the filly out of "a little dull" streak she had seemed to lapse into. To the new mix, Coleman added driver Miller.

The Breeders Crown Shuffle

While trailing Tim Tetrick driving Btwnyurheartnmine, Miller said he felt all right with A And G's postiion in the BC race. Even when winningest driver in harness history John Campbell got into the leading act with Tug River Princess, Miller believed his filly was still ripe for rally.

Tug River Princess and Knock Three Times, along with Native Bride, were like loose cannons through the middle of the pace, and A And G'sconfusion appeared to come back to Miller.

Then, leaving Native Bride to bring up the rear in third position, A And G's gathered a finishing kick through the lane to propel beyond the waves of Tug River Princess and knocked down the millionaire's door with a half length to spare.
