I'm Loaded and Greg Bateson At Henry County FairDuo Finished Second In Northwestern Ohio Colt Stakes Program
Leading at the stretch, Indiana filly I'm Loaded, driven by Greg Bateson, was overcome by the explosive kick of Hustlin Hooray in Henry County Fair harness racing.
Following rain delays, Indiana filly I'm Loaded and Arkansas lass Hustlin Hooray, guided by Mark Headworth, battled it out in Standardbred Race No. 2 August 19 in Napoleon, Ohio. The Northwestern Ohio Colt Stakes competition at the Henry County Fair in Napoleon was reduced this year due to thunderstorms that left 3.22 inches of rainfall on the race track and fairgrounds. All Monday and Tuesday regularly scheduled evening races were postponed by the twenty-four hour deluge to a dwindled program on Wednesday afternoon. Wednesday afternoon's races amounted to six contests from Monday evening's schedule and eight competitions from Tuesday evening's card. I'm Loaded and Hustlin Hooray hustled the fair crowd into finishing line cheers as they battled for the hardware in the last few lengths of their three-year-old filly division race. Having led in the stretch with Greg Bateson in the bike, I'm Loaded gave out short of the wire, but provided instant excitement in the day's first three-year-old filly shoot-out, as Hustlin Hooray's explosive kick from the outside got the job done. The break put Win Master behind the eight ball, but the youngster made up ground quickly in the last half mile and charged late for the wire. His early fault cost too much, however, and he was unable to make up enough distance to overcome eventual winner Surclasser, steered by Tom Moore Jr. Win Master, I'm Loaded, and Sam's Princess were several secod place money winners who gave loyal Henry County Fair harness racing fans a thrilling day of Standardbred fare. A number of drivers, including J. Duke Sugg, Moore Jr., Bateson, and Currier Jr., picked up different assignments as a result of the rain delay schedule.
