North America Cup Undercard WinnersCelebrity Deville, Federal Flex, Not Enough Get It Done in OntarioNot Enough scored a squeaker win over Yellow Diamond in the Fan Hanover. Federal Flex went ill after the Goodtimes, and Celebrity Deville impressed Elegantimage fans.
After flexing through a 1:54.2 trot to win the $333,200 Goodtimes at Campbellville, Ontario, Federal Flex fell ill and was diagnosed with an ulcer on his palate. The three-year-old colt had achieved triumph in his only start this season before qualifying for the Goodtimes, a trotting showcase on the undercard of June 27's Pepsi North America Cup at Mohawk Raceway. For the final of the $680,000 Fan Hanover Stakes pace, driver Jim Morrill Jr. changed bikes from filly Not Enough to Yellow Diamond, whom he had driven several times previously, but the decision proved costly. Not Enough won the event with Tim Tetrick on the cart. It was Tetrick's first drive with Not Enough, who showed enough spunk to hold off Yellow Diamond by a neck in 1:50 at the wire. In the Elegantimage Stakes, a $561,500 trotting competition, Celebrity Deville finally achieved celebrity with her first victory in her tenth career start. She did it with style, easily holding the lead by 2-1/4 lengths in claiming the long-sought-after win. George Brennan piloted the filly, who finished in 1:54.3. Complete Order of Finish Goodtimes

Owner of Celebrity Deville EcstaticSam Stathis, owner of Celebrity Farms, was ecstatic to discover a second celebrity in his barn. His Celebrity Deville gave a stunning performance in the North America Cup card's Elegantimage Stakes. The filly broke out of her winless slump to beat her stablemate Celebrity Juliet, whom driver Trevor Ritchie had chosen over her. Stathis was elated to see both celebrities do well. Celebrity Juliet followed up Celebrity Deville's win with a fourth place landing. "She's done everything right the past...weeks," Stathis commented about Celebrity Deville in a post-race interview. He said he and trainer Staffan Lind were sure the filly "had one more gear in her". Celebrity Deville geared up to establish the largest margin of victory on the NA Cup undercard with her 2-1/4 lengths romp in the Elegantimage.
